Restricts cell division and is involved in the coordination between cell proliferation and endoreduplication during development. May play a role during the transition from skotomorphogenesis to photomorphogenesis. Regulated by phosphorylation-dependent proteolysis via the protein-ubiquitin ligase SCF(SKP2A) complex.
