Proper kinetochore stoichiometry ensures the correct attachment of kinetochores to spindle microtubules during cytokinesis. Required for the localization of spindle assembly checkpoint (SAC) protein mad2 and bub1 to the nucleus envelope during interphase, but not their localization during mitosis.
