    Involved in regulation of actin and microtubule organization. Part of a WAVE complex that activates the Arp2/3 complex.

The majority co-localizes with the autophagosome marker ATG8, and anti-NAP1 identifies autophagosomes in immuno-TEM. Fewer autophagosomes are generated in the NAP1 knockout mutant during starvation stress. PMID: 27451899
    2. NAP1 localizes to multiple organelles in developing pavement cells and trichomes. The endoplasmic reticulum-associated NAP1 is inactive because it displays little colocalization with the actin network. PMID: 23613272
