  • 功能：
    Calcium-binding protein. Binds one calcium ion per monomer. Can promote differentiation of adipocytes (in vitro). Overexpression in preadipocytes increases their proliferation, enhances adipogenesis and reduces insulin-stimulated glucose uptake.

    2. Data show that overexpression of S100 calcium binding protein A16 protein (S100A16) activated AKT protein and ERK signaling pathways. PMID: 27240591
    3. These results indicate that S100 calcium binding protein A16 is a differentiation promoting protein and might function as a tumor suppressor in oral squamous cell carcinoma. PMID: 26353754
