    2. Oxr1 serves as a potential therapeutic target for ALS and other neurodegenerative disorders characterized by TDP-43 or FUS pathology. PMID: 25792726
    3. OXR1 upregulates the expression of antioxidant genes via the p21 signaling pathway to suppress hydrogen peroxide-induced oxidative stress and maintain mtDNA integrity. PMID: 25236744
    4. The protein segment encoded by exon 8 plays an important role in the anti-oxidative function of the human OXR1 protein. PMID: 22873401
