    Scaffold protein that plays an essential role in cytoplasmic stress granule formation which acts as a platform for antiviral signaling.

    1. High G3BP2 levels worsened prognosis in breast cancer. Cell lines with lower G3BP2 levels required substantially higher cell numbers to form tumors in NOD/SCID mice. G3BP2 regulates SART3, Nanog, and Oct-4 expression levels and may be responsible for the maintenance of subpopulations of breast cancer cells with long-term proliferative properties.G3BP2 is important in breast tumor initiation.     2. Translocation of p53 is regulated by androgen-dependent sumoylation mediated by the G3BP2-interacting SUMO-E3 ligase, RanBP2.
