    Catalyzes the reductive methylation of 2'-deoxyuridine-5'-monophosphate (dUMP) to 2'-deoxythymidine-5'-monophosphate (dTMP) while utilizing 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate (mTHF) as the methyl donor, and NAD(P)H and FADH(2) as the reductant.

    2. Cloned and purified the ThyX enzyme from H. pylori SS1 strain. Recombinant HpThyX showed maximum activity at pH 8.5, and K(m) values of the two substrates dUMP and CH(2) H(4) folate were determined to be 15.3 +/- 1.25 muM and 0.35 +/- 0.18 mM, respectively. PMID: 21633987
