    The function of this complete protein has not been studied, but it may be similar to the function of the disintegrin domain. A recombinant protein of this domain (409-484) inhibits collagen-induced human platelet aggregation, without having effect on ADP-induced aggregation. It may act either by blocking the binding of fibrinogen to the platelet receptor GPIIb/GPIIIa (ITGA2B/ITGB3) or by blocking the binding of collagen to the integrin alpha-2/beta-1 complex (ITGA2/ITGB1).
