Plays a role on folate stability and intracellular folate content. Has endopeptidase activity against 4-amino-10-methylpteroyl penta-, tetra-, tri- and di-gamma-L-glutamate substrates and is responsible for the production of folic acid, also called pteroylglutamic acid (PteGlu) from teroylpolyglutamates.
